“October has a really significant meaning for me. Back in 1991 my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. She had her mammogram here at the Women’s Medical Center. The mammogram was quickly read by the radiologist here and a swift diagnosis of breast cancer was given to my mother. Without delay she was referred to a general surgeon and her treatment of the cancer began.
Since that time, October has been very special to me. Not only for the awareness that it brings, but also the hope and positivity that it can also bring. If it weren’t for the employees and doctors of The Women’s Medical Center doing such an exceptional job, my mother my have had a very different outcome.
This is what sparked my love for an event I like to call PINK WEEK. I use it as an opportunity to thank the employees for all that they do all year round in touching the lives of all of our patients. It is a week of fun, food and prizes. All PINk of course!! It brings the staff together in a very fun way and lets them know they are appreciated. Long live PINK WEEK!!😀”
